Join Holland & Barrett's Burton Manufacturing site as QA Manager, leading our multi-shift Quality Assurance team to maintain the highest standards in product integrity. You will shape QA strategy, ensure audit preparedness and promote a quality culture across operations. By collaborating with customers and suppliers, you'll address quality concerns swiftly and drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing, multi-shift QA team through coaching, training and clear performance expectations.
- Maintain audit readiness (BRC, customer and third-party) by coordinating pre-audit preparation and closing non-conformances.
- Act as primary contact for customer quality matters, ensuring transparent communication and driving improvements.
- Oversee operational QA checks, including foreign-body audits, traceability exercises, label verifications and document reviews.
- Manage supplier non-conformance reporting: log issues, lead investigations, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Conduct QA risk assessments, track KPIs, analyse trends and implement risk-based actions to uphold food safety and quality.
- Drive continuous improvement and a “right-first-time” culture, using data to reduce non-conformances and support cross-departmental collaboration.
- Monitor QA performance metrics, report to site leadership and ensure timely corrective actions to enhance quality outcomes.
Location: This role is based onsite at our Burton Distribution Centre, Monday to Friday.
Qualifications:
- Significant QA management experience within food manufacturing or a similarly regulated production environment.
- Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate QA teams across multiple shifts.
- Strong knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP, BRC, GMP) with HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 3 (or equivalent).
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis, non-conformance handling and corrective/preventive action implementation.
- Solution-focused mindset with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to the highest quality and safety standards.
- Exceptional stakeholder-management skills, able to build trusted relationships internally and externally.
- Resilient and adaptable leader, capable of driving change, overcoming challenges and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
