We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals with at least 12 months of full-time experience (or the equivalent hours) on an acute ward, who are seeking their next challenge. As a Registered Nurse on the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you will be invited to work within the integrated multidisciplinary team. The hospital has a 14-bed mixed unit caring for patients who require ICU (level 3) and HDU (level 2) care.
Description:
As a nurse on the ICU, you will be:
Responsible for the care of critically ill patients and their families.
Recognising and treating patients as individuals.
Administering medications and treatment within local/national guidelines.
Maintaining Trust/NMC documentation.
Demonstrating the ability to meet our trust values.
Having appropriate communication skills across the multidisciplinary team.
Ensuring patients receive compassionate care and maintain dignity.
Acting as a role model for junior staff.
Skills and Experience:
NMC Registered General Nurse.
Equivalent to 12 months full-time, recent experience in an Acute ward setting.
Knowledge of Intensive Care nursing.
Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of acutely ill patients.
Manual dexterity for the administration of intravenous treatments.
Standing for long periods.
Ability to assist effectively in the movement and manual handling of patients in line with trust manual handling procedures.
Experience in resuscitation of patients.
