REPORTS TO: Financial Controller – Wholesale & Foodservice
ABOUT THE ROLE
To ensure that all financial reporting and accounting transactions are completed accurately and timely each month for several branches and supporting in the annual budget.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Banking & Cash
- Reconciling Bank Accounts on a weekly basis
- Credit Card Postings and Reconciliations
- Produce and submit Treasury Report to Group every week
- Month end Responsibilities
- Nominal Ledger Period End including all journals/ accruals and reconciliations
- Productions of Branch Packs including statistics etc. in Excel
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Commission Calculation
- Rebate Calculations and Reconciliations
- Support Branch purchase ledger and sales ledger functions with any queries
- Oversee the expense ledger, ensuring invoices are coded correctly
- Petty Cash Recharge invoices
- Analysis Weekly Sales reports using Excel
- Ad hoc Analysis requests
- Monthly Sales Analysis
- Payroll Support in payroll analysis
- Other VAT Returns to Head Office
- Produce Ad hoc reports
- Internal / External Audit
EXPERIENCE / ABOUT YOU
- Experience of working in a fast-moving accounts team
- Understanding of all aspects of an accounts department
- Production of all aspects of accounts
- Desirable - Experience and understanding of the retail / foodservice industry
- Ability to manage large quantities of data via Excel
- Committed to the delivery of quality reporting
- Capable of applying attention to detail and accuracy
- IT Literate
- High level Microsoft Excel Skills
- Good communication skills and ability to build strong business relationships
- Excellent organisational skills / flexibility essential
- Ability to use own initiative and to adapt to changes in the industry
- Good team working
- Occasional travel to Bristol and Edinburgh may be required as part of induction.
