Join Police Digital Service as a Asset and Configuration Analyst starting at £40,000 As part of the continuing expansion of our IT service provision, we are looking for an experienced Asset and Configuration Analyst to join the Team. The ICT Asset and Configuration Analyst is responsible for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the organisation\’s IT asset and configuration management database (CMDB). The successful applicant will report to the Change and Configuration Manager and will work closely with both internal and external teams to ensure that high-quality asset and configuration processes are delivered across the estate in support of the wider IT service. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team, and the successful applicant has an opportunity to make a genuine improvement to the capabilities of the Police Digital Service and, in turn, to the service provided to their customers. About Police Digital Service To protect people from harm in our rapidly changing world, police services must not only keep up with technology and business changes but develop capabilities and ways of working that will enable them to adapt to and deal with the complexity of modern criminality Our Values are: We value People We do the right thing We are innovative We are one Team We are proud and passionate Key Responsibilities Support the management of the acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal of IT assets (hardware and software) for PDS and its corporate customers Work closely with the contracted device logistics partner to ensure asset deliveries and collections are completed successfully in line with agreed service levels. Maintain and update the asset register and ensure the accuracy of asset records. Monitor and track asset usage to ensure compliance with licensing agreements. Perform regular audits of hardware and software assets to reconcile discrepancies. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and optimisation of IT asset usage. Meet with external vendors and suppliers to support asset procurement and management. Maintain the Configuration Management Database ensuring data accuracy and completeness. Ensure configuration items are correctly identified, tracked, and linked to appropriate services or processes. Support incident, problem, and change management processes by providing accurate configuration data. Produce regular reports on asset and configuration management metrics (e.g., asset status, compliance, audits). Provide support to monthly/annual billing cycles, ensuring accurate invoices are generated to customers of PDS Provide guidance and support to teams on asset and configuration management best practices. What you need to succeed in the role 2-5 years of experience in IT asset and configuration management. Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with the ability to produce clear, concise documentation. Enthusiastic about problem-solving, and a willingness to take responsibility and solve challenges. Ability to adapt and respond to changing priorities and demands. An appreciation for confidentiality and the ability to be successfully vetted to SC and NPPV level 3. Experience with the ServiceNow ITSM tool is preferable. Working Arrangements This is a remote role with occasional travel required to attend meetings. All applicants must be eligible to undergo NPPV3 (Non Police Personnel Vetting Level 3 )and SC vetting clearances. Successful applicants will require NPPV3 clearance to have been cleared before starting with PDS.
