The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.
To complete reactive and planned maintenance on all Plant, equipment and buildings to ensure the minimum impact on daily production, ensuring maximum output to service our Aerospace customers. To also ensure that every task is completed in a safe working environment and being responsible for reporting and safety hazards immediately.
Main Responsibilities:
- Carry out frequency based Preventive Maintenance plans to site standards across all areas of the site and rectify any issues found.
- Diagnose breakdown causes and repair efficiently and effectively to ensure minimum downtime in production of goods.
- Carry out equipment installations, calibrations and provide technical support.
- Proactively suggest modifications and improvements in the engineering function such as equipment, plant and processes.
- Carry out effective 5S processes and housekeeping of Workshop and Plant areas affected by all maintenance activities.
- Be proactive in business process improvement initiatives and be aware of equipment performance trends such as efficiency, quality and waste.
- Respond to reactive/corrective maintenance requests in a timely manner to reduce the impact on plant/machinery downtime.
- Monitor stock within stores to determine availability of required spares and liaise with the Support Co-ordinator to ensure that orders are placed and appropriately stocked in the stores area.
- Carry out other tasks given by department managers as and when required to suit the requirements of the business.
- Able to plan, help and organize electrical/mechanical works and plan daily tasks to support business needs to resolve electrical/mechanical fixes in the plant.
- Support and contribute to the development of safe systems of work ensuring that Company Health and Safety Standards are complied with, and safe working practices are always adopted.
- Site Installs and Commissioning of electrical systems.
- Carry out wiring, inspections and testing of machine electrical installations and of plant fixed electrical installations to PPG and industry standards.
- Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, looking at root cause analysis to help prevent future failures.
- Able to recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
- Collaborate with electrical/mechanical engineers and other personnel to identify, define and solve machine related problems.
- Effectively record all completed planned, reactive and corrective maintenance tasks on to the PPG CMMS.
- Accountable for carrying out and completing all works in a professional manner, to a high standard of workmanship with attention to detail in line with Manufacturer's instructions/guidelines and industry best practice.
Competencies:
- Minimum Level 3 Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work at height.
- Ability to work to deadlines, under pressure and unsupervised.
