Department: Contingency Operations

Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire based at a fixed Initial Accommodation site (Some travel may be required based on business need)

Reporting to: Initial Accommodation Team Leader

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week – working a shift pattern including some nights and weekends based on a 6-week shift pattern.

Salary: £31,475.00 per annum

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Initial Accommodation Officer to join our team. You will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to Service Users residing in our initial accommodation facilities. This role requires a proactive and empathetic individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Service User Support:

  • Manage a caseload of Service Users, providing guidance and support.
  • Conduct regular welfare checks and address any concerns promptly.
  • Signpost Service Users to essential services (GPs, shops, support agencies).
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all Service Users and staff.
  • Address safeguarding issues in accordance with company policy.

Accommodation Management:

  • Conduct regular inspections of accommodation and report any maintenance issues.
  • Ensure property standards are maintained and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Manage inventory and ensure the upkeep of accommodation facilities.

Operational Excellence:

  • Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and statutory regulations.
  • Participate in service improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all activities.
  • Liaise effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and external agencies.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with Service Users, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Attend relevant meetings and represent the company professionally.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable adults or in a customer service environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including some evening and weekend shifts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working in a residential setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
  • Experience of working with diverse communities.
