We’re working with a forward-thinking and well-established Eastbourne-based accountancy firm on the lookout for a Bookkeeper & Payroll Specialist to join their sociable, close-knit team. The Role: A hybrid blend of client-focused bookkeeping and end-to-end payroll, this role is ideal for someone who’s confident managing their own portfolio and wants to grow in a practice setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing VAT returns and bookkeeping for multiple clients
- Handling monthly and weekly payrolls for a varied client base
- Submitting RTI and managing auto-enrolment processes
- Communicating directly with clients to resolve queries
- Supporting the wider accounts team with ad hoc tasks
What We’re Looking For:
- Practice experience in both bookkeeping and payroll
- A solid grasp of payroll software (e.g. BrightPay, Xero, Sage, Moneysoft)
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A confident, client-focused approach
- CIPP or AAT qualification would be a bonus – but experience is just as valuable.
