Job Summary: The Inside Sales Associate/Back-up Driver will act as a Sales Associate for the retail store by selling products to businesses and industrial customers.

Job Description:

• Sell industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding supplies, and related equipment to customers.
• Solicit sales from new and existing customers, managing paperwork for future reference.
• Coordinate cylinder and hardgoods deliveries, maintain showroom displays.
• Assist customers with loading/unloading cylinders and provide guidance on equipment use and materials.
• Foster strong customer relations, addressing inquiries and providing cost, ordering, and delivery information.
• Monitor and maintain proper hardgoods and cylinder levels to minimize emergencies.
• Manage accounts receivable, discuss past-due accounts, and collect payments.
• Ensure accurate paperwork completion, including coding, costing, and pricing.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to safety and administrative procedures.
• Periodically deliver products to various customers.
• Act as Backup Driver when necessary.
• Operate equipment like forklifts as required.
• Support inventory management, housekeeping, displays, and demonstrations.

Qualifications and Competencies:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of Customer Service or Sales experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• At least 21 years old.
• Possess a Class A or B CDL with HAZMAT or obtain within 30 days.
• Industry experience or related product knowledge preferred.
• Basic computer order entry system knowledge.
• Capable of lifting 25-75 lbs. routinely and over 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Regularly stand, walk, and sit during deliveries; handle and feel items; reach, talk, and hear; be alert to gas leaks.
• Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, and repetitive motions.
• Occasional activities include climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and fine motor tasks.
• Visual capabilities required include close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• At least one year of CDL Class A or B driving experience or graduation from an accredited truck driving school.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions, and manuals; write routine reports; speak effectively before groups.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Ability to perform basic math operations and calculate percentages.

REASONING ABILITY:

• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in various forms.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Regular exposure to outside weather conditions.
