At Fast Pace Urgent Care, X-Ray Techs provide clinical and administrative support essential for effective patient care under the direct supervision of a Provider, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. They deliver outstanding patient service, maintaining a compassionate and welcoming atmosphere, and respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment, including imaging. The X-Ray Tech will provide effective customer service for all internal and external customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge and communicating effectively with team members.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill all responsibilities of Nurse/Clinical Tech and Patient Care Specialist positions as detailed in their respective job descriptions.
  • Provide clinical and administrative support, adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and track x-ray orders for timely completion and submission.
  • Assist patients with proper positioning during exams to ensure diagnostic quality.
  • Conduct activities consistent with department expectations and compliant with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Review exam images for initial read by the provider.
  • Send final images to Radiology group for over-read.
  • Label all images correctly with laterality using initialed lead markers.
  • Ensure no removable artifacts are present and proper technique is used; document any artifacts with a clear explanation.
  • Address minor maintenance issues with equipment and follow up with the nurse coordinator or Clinic Director as needed.
  • Monitor the condition of cassettes and other equipment, report issues promptly, and ensure cleaning after each use to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Maintain and distribute pregnancy waiver forms where applicable.
  • Perform triage by checking and recording vitals, collecting clinical history, and other charting activities; perform blood draws, injections, administer medications, and other basic nursing tasks if applicable.
  • Monitor and record X-Ray badge status monthly.
  • Wear radiation monitors at all times in the X-Ray room and report as required.
  • Complete mandatory compliance training to ensure understanding of company policies.
  • Welcome new employees, facilitate introductions, clinic tours, and process overviews.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new employees through shadowing, demonstrations, and coaching.
  • Maintain friendly, professional relations with colleagues and clients, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Perform physical, sensory, cognitive, and environmental functions as specified in the physical demands.
  • Adhere to company standards and core values, including teamwork, communication, empowerment, quality care, and friendliness.

Experience Requirements and Preferences:

  • Current License or Certification: ARRT License (Registered Technologist) State License (Registered Technologists’ and Limited Scope) License must be active, in good standing, and verifiable with the proper regulatory agency. TB and IV Certification required within 60 days of employment and maintained during employment if applicable.
  • Additional Requirements and responsibilities for Full Scope X-Ray Only:
  • Level 1: High School Diploma or equivalent, current CPR license, and at least 1 year of experience as a certified RT(R) or limited scope x-ray tech, preferably in urgent care.
  • Level 2: Certified RTR, current CPR license, over 1 year and less than 3 years of experience in patient care as an RTR.
  • Additional Requirements for Ancillary positions: Certified RTR with current CPR, over 1 year and less than 3 years of experience; evaluated for level 3 after 6 months.
  • Level 3: Certified RTR, current CPR, over 3 years and less than 7 years of experience; capable of handling increased X-Ray volume and advanced techniques.
  • Level 4: Certified RTR, current CPR, over 7 years of experience with additional responsibilities including ultrasound procedures and advanced techniques.
  • Level 5: Certified RTR, current CPR, over 7 years of experience with administrative duties.
  • Additional Requirements and responsibilities for LSRT X-Ray (applicable only in states where licensure is required):
  • Levels similar to above, with focus on Limited Scope certification and experience, including ultrasound procedures and administrative duties.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

License Requirements:

  • Limited Scope X-Ray Technologist License, ARRT Certification, Full Scope X-Ray State License
