Relief Night Shift Manager

Overview

Relief Shift Manager (Nights) at Ornua.

Location: Nantwich, Ornua Ingredients – Main Rd, Worleston, Nantwich CW5 6DN.

Hourly Rate: £17.60 per hour

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 22:00 to 06:00

Reports to: Night Shift Manager

Responsibilities

• Fully running the shift in the shift Manager absence and attending meetings with actions taken.
• Completing daily shift reports.
• Carrying out RTW and informal/Disciplinary hearings.
• Investigating and addressing work-related accidents.
• Lead the development of improvements and line effectiveness of operations and production through cross-functional collaboration, performance improvement initiatives, and development of operational processes.
• Ensure all employees adhere to Quality, Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and procedures, driving near-miss and good-catch reporting.
• Ensure paperwork records production activity accurately.
• Monitor and drive quality, hygiene and GMP KPIs.
• Monitor production lines for faults, report to the Shift Manager/Engineer as required, and capture on Redzone.
• Monitor and drive production output against daily planned targets.
• Ensure routine quality checks and adherence to Quality policies & procedures.
• Raise non-conformances and close out in a timely manner.
• Work with the Shift Manager and Site Trainer to induct new staff and train all staff, identifying training gaps and upskilling needs.
• Conduct material area checks and investigations of variances.
• Attend and investigate daily material variances meetings.
• Drive and action daily huddles on lines.
• Manage labour and skills using the shift planned rota; provide on-line coverage and break coverage as required.

What You Bring To The Role

• Food Hygiene Level 2, preferably Level 3
• Leadership experience within a food manufacturing environment
• People management experience with a track record of recruiting, managing, motivating and training staff
• In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety and Technical legislation, procedures, and SOPs
• Proven spoken and written English skills
• Knowledge of MS Office and food manufacturing software (e.g., M3, Redzone)
