Overview

This individual will provide mental health assessment, intervention, psychological testing and interpretation and consultation to individuals and/or groups identified as having psychiatric disorders; plans treatment modalities, coordinates treatment plans and follows. This position works within the Child Diagnostic Clinic and will work primarily with children and adolescents ages 18 and under.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic assessments, collecting diagnostic information, determining immediate treatment plans for patients.
  • Requests medical consultation, where indicated, in a diligent and timely manner.
  • Experience in psychometric/psychological testing with all age groups.
  • Provides direct, intensive psychiatric therapy to individuals, families and/or groups identified as having psychiatric disorders.
  • Coordinates with Crisis Stabilization Unit and UnityPoint Health Mental Health Inpatient Unit for clients presenting that may be a danger to self or others.
  • Coordinates with UnityPoint Health medical departments for consultation related to providing guidance for treatment options.
  • Maintains records according to RYC and accreditation standards MRO, CARF, Medicaid, and Commercial Insurances.

Qualifications

  • Education: Must have a Ph.D; Psy.D, Ed.D. from an American Psychological Association accredited psychology program and completion of pre-doctoral internship.
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience. Experience working with children, adolescents and/or families in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • License(s)/Certification(s): Holds a current license from the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation as a Clinical Psychologist.
