This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as a VAT Analyst, joining our VAT Team (Finance team). This role is a 12 month fixed-term position. The VAT Team is responsible for Remote’s VAT matters worldwide.

Requirements
- Experience working in a Tax department (big 4 environment focused in tax and reporting), namely in preparing and filing tax returns
- SAP experience (not mandatory)
- Hold a bachelor’s or master degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, Management or similar - to be a chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, CTA, CPA or similar) will be highly valued
- To be a team-player driven by excellence, good organisation skills and attention to details
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced challenging environment
- Writes and speaks fluent English
- Strong analytical skills
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit VAT Returns and other connected reports in several jurisdictions (EMEA/APAC)
- Work with tax advisors to prepare and submit reports connected with Remote VAT obligations.
- Reconcile VAT accounts and analyse discrepancies to ensure accuracy of the ERP data.
- Liaise with accounts payable, accounts receivable and accounting team in order to review individual transactions and make any necessary corrections.
- Analyse invoices to ensure compliance with local tax law and proper tax treatment and request corrections if necessary.
- Manage and ensure compliance with e-invoicing regulations across multiple EMEA/APAC jurisdictions.
- Assist in VAT registrations and de-registrations.
- Support the team in VAT audits.
- Support on ad hoc research and projects as needed, including expansion into new countries and VAT treatment of new operations.
- Monitor legislative changes in VAT laws and assess their impact on the business.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance VAT reporting efficiency.
- Perform VAT number checks to ensure compliance with VAT regulations.
- Regularly review and update VAT records, ensuring accuracy for invoicing and reporting.
- Work together with the tax technology team to ensure the used source data is accurate.
