The role
As the Energy Data Analyst, you will lead the analysis of energy data to identify trends, insights, and actionable strategies, requiring strong analytical skills and domain knowledge.
Key Responsibilities and Skills:
- Data Analysis & Interpretation: Collect, structure, and analyse large datasets related to energy markets (oil, gas, electricity, etc.). Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in energy consumption, production, and pricing. Develop and maintain energy models and simulation tools. Conduct quantitative research to support various activities of the modelling suite.
- Reporting & Communication: Draft reports, short papers, or presentations on energy market analysis and model results. Translate energy data and transition trends into actionable strategies and recommendations. Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
- Energy Market Knowledge: Maintain a strong understanding of the energy market, including oil, gas, and electricity sectors. Stay informed about relevant regulations, policies, and industry trends.
- Technical Skills: Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Knowledge of database management systems.
- Leadership & Teamwork: Collaborate with other departments, including trading, operations, and policy.
- Other potential responsibilities: Conduct/assist energy audits and assess energy conservation measures. Develop and implement energy management programs. Support business development and strategic planning.
