Here at Peacocks, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Management Accountant to join our Finance department at our Head Office in Cardiff. If you would like to be part of a forward-thinking business and have a job with excellent career prospects, we would love to hear from you.
With a store portfolio of approximately 340 stores plus our expanding e-commerce business, we are growing our current headcount to support the company's growth over the next 3-5 years. You will report to the Head of FP&A and work closely with them and the Finance Director in developing the company's strategic plan, as well as analyzing and reporting on performance across key areas such as e-commerce, distribution, stores, and central costs.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Overview of monthly management accounts for retail, logistics, and central costs
- Production of weekly trading packs
- Preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring accuracy for cash flow impact
- Production and analysis of store P&L statements
- Production and analysis of e-commerce P&L statements
- Monthly review meetings with budget holders
- Quarterly store-by-store review meetings with regional managers
- Preparation of monthly P&L packs
- Interpretation of financial data and making recommendations to senior management
- Providing financial information to support strategic and operational decisions
- Challenging and supporting the commercial management team on financial matters
- Ad-hoc trading analysis related to promotions and offers
Candidate Profile:
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs minimum)
- Flexible and diplomatic approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to interact with senior financial and non-financial stakeholders across the business on various financial and non-financial matters
