Senior Research Chemist required, based in Cheshire West. Potential candidates will ideally hold a PhD in Chemistry, with proven industrial experience researching the applications of new and existing products. Candidates within polymers and other organic synthetic chemistry are encouraged to apply.
SRG is working with a well-respected, global company that develops a wide range of speciality chemicals and additives. With a genuine drive for innovation, they are now looking for a Senior Research Chemist to join their R&D hub, planning, developing, and delivering project plans resulting in the development of new and existing products. This role involves reviewing literature and patents, supporting laboratory work, and managing projects to meet milestones and deliverables.

Role / Responsibilities:
- Devising and managing projects to develop new functional chemical compounds and products.
- Designing and conducting laboratory experiments, synthesis, and characterization of new products.
- Collaborating with Applications Chemists to establish test methods and evaluate compound performance in formulations.
- Interpreting analysis results and reporting findings.
- Using literature, market trends, and industry conferences to inform synthetic routes and reaction mechanisms.
- Staying informed about product development and industry trends.
- Collaborating with internal R&D teams on ongoing and long-term projects.
Requirements:
- BSc/MSc in Chemistry; PhD preferred.
- Proven industrial experience in researching polymer and synthetic chemistry applications.
- Creative synthetic techniques for producing functional compounds.
- Inquisitive with lateral thinking skills.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
