An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and committed individual to join Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant in Dermatology. This new post will be based at King’s Mill Hospital with sessions at Newark Hospital. The successful candidate will be taking a lead in the implementation of tele dermatology services and development. This new post also offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the clinical development of the Dermatology service across Nottinghamshire with support in training and integration of community services with secondary care. This is a full-time position but candidates wishing to work part-time or in a job-share are encouraged to apply. If a part-time or job-share person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed with the appointee on a personal basis. They will be required to devote substantially the whole of their time for the appointed sessions to the duties of the post and to give them priority at these times.
Main duties of the job
- To assist in the provision and development of a safe, effective and efficient Dermatology service and support the Trust and its network in providing the best possible care to patients.
- To carry out all duties at the highest possible standard and in accordance with current quality initiatives within your area of work.
- Cover for colleagues’ annual leave and other authorised absence.
- Any other duties that may be required from time to time.
- A willingness to undertake additional professional responsibilities at local, regional or national levels.
- To carry out duties with due regard to the Trust’s Equal Opportunities Policy at all times.

Qualifications
- Full Registration with the GMC with a licence to practice.
- MRCP or show evidence of equivalent qualification.
- Entry on Specialist Register via CESR pathway or CCT within 6 months of date of interview for this post.
- Higher degree: MD or PhD.
Experience
- Experience requisite to meeting all aspects of the job plan.
- Understanding of all aspects of Stroke Medicine.
- Five years supervised training in an appropriate SpR equivalent training programme.
- Stroke Fellowship.
Teaching
- Demonstrable ability as a teacher with evidence of training for the role.
Research
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals.
