We are seeking a Material Controller to join our small team at the Southport site. Reporting to the Manufacturing Procurement Operations Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the material control function, ensuring materials are planned and delivered to meet manufacturing and customer needs.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure the delivery of key products to manufacturing and Supply Chain Solutions, including internally supplied products.
- Coordinate with internal customers and participate in production meetings.
- Maintain and improve internal customer satisfaction.
- Resolve receipt queries, non-conformance issues, and other warehouse, supplier, or finance issues.
- Develop strong relationships with key suppliers and drive improvements.
- Achieve targets related to production plans, supplier delivery performance, blocked stock, order acknowledgements, and overdue order reduction.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and address issues proactively.
- Develop internal processes to reduce waste and enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to maintain SAP inventory levels.
Qualifications:
- A level qualification or equivalent in a related subject.
- Experience in material control within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong data analysis, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Attention to detail with a logical analytical approach.
- Working knowledge of SAP/MRP systems.
- Good understanding of the UK and international rail markets.
