Contract: Part time - 3 days a week
The Role: The school is seeking a caring, skilled, and proactive Hair and Beauty Technician and Teacher to support the delivery of their vocational curriculum. This role is ideal for someone passionate about inspiring young people and creating a positive, inclusive learning environment. The school is an alternative education provider for young people with SEMH, who often struggle to remain in mainstream education due to mental health issues, critical illnesses, and social-emotional challenges, which hinder their access to education. The role involves one day a week, every Monday, starting from September. The school is also opening a new Sixth Form in September.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teaching staff in delivering practical Hair and Beauty sessions
- Maintain equipment and salon standards in a safe, clean, and organised manner
- Encourage and motivate students with a trauma-informed, patient approach
- Help young people develop self-esteem, skills, and creativity through vocational learning
- Provide one-to-one support where required to ensure all learners can engage fully

- Experience in a salon or hair and beauty education setting
- A nurturing, resilient personality with a genuine passion for working with vulnerable young people
- Understanding of (or willingness to learn about) SEMH and alternative education environments
- A collaborative, team-focused attitude
- Relevant qualifications in Hair and Beauty or willingness to train
