At Trade Me, we are about connecting Kiwi to create the life they want. We are looking for a passionate Reporting Analyst with commercial acumen who has a keen interest in working with all things data for a 12-month fixed-term role. You will support the migration of our reporting and business intelligence assets to Snowflake. This role can be based out of Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch. The role is vital to helping us make data-driven decisions to improve audience and engagement, lift revenue and inventory, and make things better for our stakeholders and customers.

You will be helping us provide meaningful data and reports that support product, pricing, sales and marketing decisions. Here is what you can expect from this role:

  • Migrate PowerBI reports and dashboards from using our SQL service databases to Snowflake
  • Work with stakeholders to improve the usability and content of existing reports
  • Work with Insights Analysts to build data products such as external facing reports and newsletters
  • Collaborate with data engineers to construct data models needed for reports and dashboards
  • Identify data quality issues and work with data engineers to resolve
  • Proactively identify improvement opportunities for more efficient/effective data self-service

What you will bring to our team:

  • 3+ years' experience in data or reporting environments
  • Business intelligence and/or analytics experience
  • Experience working with large datasets
  • Strong technical skills with experience in SQL, Excel and Power BI
  • Experience in data engineering such as modelling or DBT are desirable
  • Experience with Google data products are desirable (e.g. Google Analytics, Big Query, Google Cloud Services)
  • Analytical thinking, problem solving and solution validation
  • The ability to convey complex, technical information to non-technical persons
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver reports and data requests in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
