Due to an exciting new programme to deliver a full mains renewal across the UK over the next few years, we are now on a significant recruitment drive to scale our teams to deliver this work. This is your opportunity to play a part in this transformation! We are looking for a Network Construction Lead Operative to join our team, responsible for managing large-scale construction activity across multiple sites.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure CDM compliance on site, responsible for health, safety, and well-being of team members, visitors, contractors, and the public, in accordance with CDM regulations.
- Communicate effectively with the on-site team and external stakeholders such as utility providers, asset owners, local authorities, and customers.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards; document findings in daily risk assessments; ensure full compliance with SOPS.
- Manage impacts related to activities, including traffic management, supply interruptions, and other disruptions, and deliver work within planned budgets.
What You’ll Bring to the Role:
The ideal candidate will have experience with mains renewal schemes and/or a formal NCO qualification, within a utility environment. Experience coordinating activities and supporting teams, liaising with stakeholders, and working in high-pressure environments is essential. You should have practical knowledge of CDM Regulations, risk identification, utility avoidance, Thrust Boring, Safe Digging, and operate below 10T with a 360 Excavator. Completion of all NRSWA modules is required. A full UK driving license is necessary, as travel is involved.
