MWH Treatment is seeking to strengthen our planning team with a permanent Regional Lead Planner. Based at our Scottish Water, ESD office, this role combines project planning responsibilities with managing the local planning team. The Lead Planner will own one or more project plans, ensuring timely delivery and addressing any delays or deviations. You will also support the MWH planning function by implementing industry-leading planning processes and procedures.
As the team manager, you will mentor and guide junior planners, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. This position reports to the Head of Planning and manages day-to-day activities in line with the Scottish Water PMO office.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain detailed project plans throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure project plans accurately capture scope, resources, and dependencies.
- Identify risks and opportunities, monitor the critical path, and advise the delivery team on potential changes.
- Uphold planning standards and ensure compliance with MWH Treatment procedures, including:
- Implementation of project and activity codes
- Baseline management
- Production of programme narratives for client submissions
- Periodic schedule quality and integrity checks
- Extensive experience in planning within the water industry.
- Proven track record managing a medium-sized planning team.
- Hands-on experience with Primavera P6.
- Strong leadership in collaborative planning, including schedule development, claims programme development, and contractual adjustments.
- Effective communication of complex information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proactive and innovative problem-solving skills.
- A technical degree in a relevant field (preferred but not mandatory).
