Our client is seeking a Senior Associate with at least five years of post-qualification experience to join its Corporate & Commercial team. This permanent role involves advising local and international clients, including private individuals, institutions, and professional intermediaries. The successful candidate will work on a diverse range of matters, including corporate and commercial law, banking and finance transactions, and trust law advice.
Job Duties:
- Manage files and transactions, resolving issues as they arise.
- Identify key legal and commercial issues proactively.
- Work collaboratively within the team and support partners as required.
- Provide clear, technically accurate legal advice to clients.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness relevant to clients' objectives.
- Adhere to the firm's procedures, including anti-money laundering regulations and time-recording requirements.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding scope, costs, progress, and any emerging issues.
- Manage multiple workstreams for various clients.
- Maintain and develop existing client relationships.
- Participate in business development activities both individually and with colleagues.
- Mentor and supervise junior team members when required.
Job Requirements:
- Qualified lawyer with up to seven years of post-qualification experience.
- Experience in corporate and/or commercial law and/or banking and finance.
- Knowledge of trust law in relation to Jersey-administered trust and corporate structures or high-net-worth private clients is advantageous.
- Strong technical legal skills and commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- A proactive and client-focused approach.
