Overview
Klarent Hospitality is recruiting for a Meeting and Events Operations Supervisor. We offer opportunities to grow and develop within the Klarent Hospitality Group Brand Portfolio. The role is based at DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Meeting and Events operations to deliver an excellent guest and member experience.
- Delegate tasks in line with function sheets and assist with meeting department targets.
- Supervise the set-up and breakdown of large-scale conferences, dinners and events as well as smaller meeting/conference rooms.
- Serve as the main point of contact for conference and events organisers; handle guest queries and resolve complaints.
- Work across Meeting and Events areas including Bar, Restaurant and Room Service; ensure cleanliness of work areas.
- Plan, organise and control daily operations; ensure compliance with brand standards and health and safety regulations.
- Assist with training and development of the team; participate in annual and mid-year appraisals.
- Assist with achieving departmental financial targets and cross-department collaboration.
- Be flexible to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and occasional night shifts.
Responsibilities (Continued)
- Supervise operations and delegate in line with daily function sheets; ensure coverage of all Meeting and Events areas.
- Welcome guests in a polite and friendly manner; manage guest queries in a timely and efficient manner.
- Follow cash handling procedures and ensure brand standards are met.
- Comply with hotel security, fire regulations, local licensing laws and all health and safety legislation.
- Be environmentally aware and maintain good working relationships with other departments.
Experience and Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in a hotel meeting and events department.
- Experience liaising with meeting and event organisers/clients.
- Experience in food service while adhering to food safety/allergens laws.
- Ability to work well under pressure; strong delegation and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service, attention to detail and organisational/time management skills.
- Resilient, creative, able to multitask and work under pressure; good command of English for communication with the kitchen team.
- Ability to work mornings, afternoons/evenings and weekends.
- Passion for food and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
