Objective
As a key member of the risk management function, you will support establishing and maintaining an effective risk and control management framework and foster a culture of risk awareness. You will help lead the development, rollout, and execution of a risk management framework, focusing on partnering with the business to assess risk and establish and review processes and controls.
Join Our Team
You will operate as Senior Risk Manager for the Group Risk Team, based at our New York City office. To thrive in this position, you should be solution and delivery focused, intellectually curious, energetic, and possess strong influencing skills, with 8+ years’ experience in risk, audit, operations, or consulting within Insurance or Financial Services. You will report to the global Head of Enterprise Risk Management.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing leadership and guidance for the business and risk colleagues to implement the evolving risk and control framework.
- Demonstrating a strong understanding of key processes within an insurance company.
- Working with the business to enable the development, assessment, and reporting on risks, risk mitigation activities, processes, and controls to support a strong risk culture.
- Responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the Process and Controls Transformation project and leading/supporting risk assessments of other significant business change projects.
- Leading Risk and Control Self-Assessments for assigned areas and encouraging timely reporting of risk incidents by the first line of defense.
- Monitoring the implementation of action plans to remediate documented issues.
- Assisting Group and Legal Entity Risk colleagues in preparing reports for Executive Risk Committee, Board Risk Committee(s), and Boards of Directors, including drafting papers and regulatory responses.
- Contributing to the continuous development and embedding of the company’s risk management framework.
- Providing advice, support, training, and challenge to the first line on risk management matters.

Your skills and abilities should include:
- Bachelor\’s degree with a desire to pursue professional qualifications such as Chartered Insurance Institute or Institute of Risk Management.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in risk management or similar roles.
- Experience in risk and control design.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to network across stakeholders.
- Ability to support major strategic projects aligned with organizational goals.
- Strong problem-solving, investigative, and analytical skills.
- Experience implementing legal and regulatory requirements in financial or insurance sectors.
- Results-oriented, organized, resilient, and detail-oriented, working collaboratively and in an agile manner.
- Experience fostering high-performance teams.
- Understanding operational metrics, KRIs, MI, and reporting.
- Persistence and contingency planning skills.
- Experience working internationally with diverse cultures and locations.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
