Join Rolls-Royce as an Electrical Design Engineer and contribute to the development of cutting-edge Aerospace Engine Test Facilities in support of both our Civil and Defence programmes. Based in Bristol, this role gives you the opportunity to work on high-impact infrastructure projects that will directly support upcoming future programmes - some of the most exciting engineering challenges we've ever taken on.
You'll be part of the global Measurement & Test Engineering organisation, playing a key role in designing, developing and maintaining world-class test capability for our next generation of gas turbine engines.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
You'll be part of the Technical Authority for Aerospace Engine Test Facilities, working from our Bristol site and supporting a broad mix of current and future programmes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing electrical engineering designs and calculations
- Leading requirements capture and converting them into detailed design solutions
- Producing specifications, technical reports and verification schedules
- Overseeing manufacture, installation, testing, and inspection of systems
- Supporting design reviews, peer approvals, and ensuring safety and compliance standards are met
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for engineers who put safety first, act with integrity, and thrive in collaborative environments. Ideally, you'll have:
- A HND/HNC or higher in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in electrical design and technical documentation
- Project environment experience with planning and execution skills
- Knowledge of British Standards and electrical design principles (e.g. BS7671)
- A proactive, team-oriented approach with excellent communication skills
The following experience would be advantageous but not essential:
- Control & Instrumentation (C&I) design (BS6739)
- Functional safety (IEC 61508/61511)
- Electrical design software (e.g. Amtech), or Siemens NX / Teamcenter
- Working towards IEng or CEng status
