Role Title: Corporate Brand Reputation Senior Manager

Department: Client Office

Reporting to: Director of Corporate Communications and Affairs

The Role

To drive our corporate brand reputation and narrative, achieving a level of positive amplification of our brand narrative that drives visibility and positive sentiment in the media, building overall brand awareness and reputation.

Outcomes of the Role

  • To help develop and deliver a positive corporate brand narrative for key media and external audiences, cascading it to our website, social media handles, annual report, corporate responsibility report, social media in partnership with the Director of Corporate Affairs and liaising with other key senior execs/ stakeholders.
  • To support the Director in orchestrating and delivering the overall corporate communications and media engagement strategy
  • To maintain proactive relationships with the financial, business and other key national media, organising events and other touchpoints
  • To identify, suggest, write and build proactive stories, initiatives, campaigns and other cut-through content that both drives the central corporate narrative and generates coverage in target media
  • Ensure content is leveraged across other channels and touchpoints (i.e. email marketing social media, blog for SEO purposes etc)
  • To support and help manage external PR agencies and other suppliers to track progress and ensure measurable delivery against the corporate communications strategy and goals
  • To support, help to manage and monitor both issues and crisis management, also working as needed with other teams and involving social media
  • To lead a programme of activity that builds our senior execs’ profiles in the media (with profiles, thought leadership, comment, events and so on)
  • To orchestrate our corporate awards submissions for the business in PR and communications

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Ideally a former journalist who also have experience of working in PR and communications, either in house or agency
  • Client-side experience valuable but not essential, agency or direct is a must
  • Excellent writing skills, including for media and social media, also SEO
  • Strong understanding of, and ideally experience and contacts in, business finance and, ideally good understanding of financial services and the wealth and asset management sectors
  • Excellent relationships and understanding of business and financial media, online, print, broadcast etc, with proven ability to connect and drive interest
  • Outstanding ability to mobilise at short notice on reactive press inquiries
  • A creative thinker who can write own pieces of content and pitch them
  • A team player who understands the connection between PR, marketing, and related functions and can balance their own agenda with wider brand campaigns also working effectively with a wide range of internal stakeholders
  • Strong awareness of process, planning and organisation needed to deliver integrated and strategic communications across stakeholders and channels
