Our client is a niche, yet growing Distribution business and we are delighted to assist them in their search for an experienced Logistics professional as they look to recruit a Logistics Operations Manager at their site in Purfleet, Essex.
Reporting into the General Manager and with Direct Reports across both Warehouse and Transport, managing a team of c100 FTEs (including Drivers) within the operation, you will be expected to manage the operation and improve operational efficiencies through Continuous Improvement.
The role operates on a Monday β Friday basis, with 2 weeks on days and 2 weeks on nights (45 hours per week).
Key Accountabilities as Logistics Operations Manager:- Achievement of the daily/weekly/monthly KPIs for all functions through effective guidance and coaching of direct reports.
- To control all department resources and costs within agreed finance targets and/or flex accordingly based on volume and customer requirements without compromising safety, people, service and costs.
- Communicate with people at all levels including people on different shifts, different departments and the Depot Leadership team.
- Ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental and regulatory standards and policies.
- Liaising with customers, suppliers, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Responsible for Order Receipt, Billing, Shifts, Pricing and Despatch.
- Experience of managing in an FMCG Logistics environment.
- Experience of effective cost management and able to work within tight budgetary controls.
- Effective planning and communication skills.
- Superb People leadership skills.
- Evidence of effective people management and leadership.
- Ability to think strategically in order to make improvements to the service offering, with a superb track record in Change management.
- Commercially astute.
