Many of our staff have been with us for 15+ years as we are committed to maintaining a happy and productive workforce. Role Description This is a full-time role for a Forklift Mechanic – Service Engineer at ELF FORKTRUCKS LTD. The role will primarily involve carrying out services, thorough examinations, and follow-up work on a wide range of forklifts and some workshop equipment. There will also be requirements to perform repairs on forklift trucks, diagnosing issues, fitting parts, conducting preventive maintenance, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment. The workshop is based in Huddersfield, and the service engineer role will cover the M62 corridor, Yorkshire, and Lancashire whilst regularly returning to the depot and local area. Qualifications Mechanical skills, including knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, and engine systems Electric forklift knowledge and experience is advantageous Experience in troubleshooting and repairing forklift trucks Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Certification or training in forklift maintenance and repair is a plus Valid driver\’s license is essential The successful applicant will be supplied with a company van, fuel card, and branded workwear. Working Hours 42.5 hours per week 8am-5pm Monday to Friday Pay The offered pay ranges between £15~£17 per hour, experience-based and negotiable for the right candidate.
