We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Sous Chef to join an exciting hospitality venture at one of South East London\’s most iconic venues. Our client\’s ambition is to create a world-class destination with a strong focus on sustainability, driven by a progressive, people-first approach. The role offers an incredible opportunity to be part of an exciting culinary journey, shaping unforgettable event experiences. Role Overview As the Sous Chef (Events) , you will report directly to the Head Chef, supporting the day-to-day kitchen operations and managing the culinary team during events. You will be instrumental in overseeing food preparation, maintaining high-quality standards, and ensuring the kitchen runs efficiently and smoothly. Your role will include supervising inventory management, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting event execution. Key Responsibilities Menu Planning & Execution : Assist with menu development, preparation, and execution for events, ensuring consistency and quality. Team Leadership : Manage and lead the kitchen team during events, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with both BOH and FOH teams. Kitchen Operations : Oversee daily kitchen tasks, ensuring the smooth running of operations, including stock control, food preparation, and health & safety compliance. Training & Development : Provide training on culinary techniques, health & safety protocols, allergen awareness, and event-specific requirements. Compliance : Ensure adherence to food safety, HSE policies, and proper documentation. Conduct audits and complete reports as needed. Inventory Management : Oversee stock counts, transfers, and ordering, ensuring the kitchen remains well-equipped and operational. Who You Are Confident & Experienced : You have a solid understanding of menus and can manage multiple events with ease, consistently delivering outstanding culinary experiences. Detail-Oriented : You have excellent organizational skills, ensuring smooth daily operations and event execution with minimal issues.
