We are seeking Operations Controllers to take on the pivotal role of looking after our Aurigny flights from the Gatwick office. As we are pipelining, this means a vacancy is not currently available but we would like to speak to interested candidates as we foresee opportunities down the line.
This role would see you working closely with various departments and external agents to manage the daily flying programme. This would be an excellent fit for someone with aviation knowledge and who is hungry to get their foot in the door to an operational aviation role. Under the supervision of our experienced Team Leads and Head of Operations, you will be responsible for monitoring, pre-empting and reacting to live daily operational occurrences. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the industry's best to ensure a safe and punctual schedule is delivered across the Aurigny network, whilst meeting customers’ expectations regarding reliability and punctuality.
This role allows for a healthy work-life balance with shift patterns as follows: 3 earlies 2 lates - 5 days off / 2 earlies, 2 lates - 5 days off / 2 earlies, 2 lates - 4 days off. Earlies: 05:45 - 17:45 Lates: 10:00 - 22:00
You Will: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Carry out crew rostering for all relevant flights
- Ensure the company FTL (Flight Time Limited) scheme is adhered to.
- Maintain a flight watch on all flights during the shift ensuring that all flights operate on-time.
- Liaise with all handling agents keeping them up to date with the daily schedule and any disruption that may occur.
- Monitor flight plans and slots for all airports on the network.
- Produce reports for the management team as required.
- Input and update spreadsheets relevant to flight safety.
- Monitor weather and NOTAM reports for all relevant destinations.
- Work in a fast-paced and reactive environment.
- Manage and maintain a high workload and service levels.
What we are looking for:
- Commercial awareness combined with interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility towards working shift system (12-hour shift) that can change at short notice due to technical or weather issues
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (including diaries and email)
- Strong organisational skills and a pro-active approach to responsibilities with ability to work on own initiative and to specific deadlines
- Working/experience in an OCC role ideally with other airlines.
- Crew Rostering experience.
- Extensive knowledge of PPS (Flight Planning) system.
- Extensive knowledge of NavBlue / N-OC system.
- Possess at least 1 years’ experience within a commercial airline operations department.
- Ideally have working knowledge of UK CAA FTL’s.
