Are you an experienced Project Engineer with a strong technical background in engineering? Our client is now seeking a talented individual to join a leading fuel storage operation in the UK, where you\’ll play a key role in delivering projects within the petrochemical industry, ensuring safety, compliance, and innovation throughout the project lifecycle! Position: Project Engineer Location: Tees Valley Job Type: Permanent Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 Dependant on Experience The Role: As a key member of the project team, you will assist the Project Manager in the technical aspects of Sustaining (M&R) and Growth CAPEX project development and delivery. Responsible for managing the projects assigned to you by the Project Manager, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Throughout the project lifecycle, you will maintain a strong focus on safety, compliance, and quality, ensuring the successful delivery of projects that meet agreed objectives and key results. Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments and process hazard analysis studies. Support the project manager in assembling cost estimates and schedules. Develop technical documentation e.g. Basis of Designs and Scope of Works for RFP Co-ordinate Subject Matter Expert reviews of technical documentation produced in house and by design houses/consultants. Manage project technical queries and holds lists. Develop pre-commissioning and commissioning plans. Support the project manager in organising project reviews, e.g. design, constructability and Human Factors/ Ergonomics Ensure all projects comply with, UK safety and environmental regulations (e.g. COMAH/CDM), planning regulations and industry best practise. Support the project manager in closing out MOC/LOPA/HAZOP actions and punchlist items. Manage engineering projects as required by the business including the production of design calculations, drawings, specifications, programmes and budgets, procurement, installation and commissioning. Responsible for allocated CAPEX project budgets assigned to manage Provide input as required to various audits carried out. Provide assistance to emergency response as detailed in the emergency plan. Requirements: A relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification. External accreditation in a recognised project management methodology, such as PMP or Prince2. Experience working within project teams in process, chemical, or petrochemical industries, particularly on COMAH sites. Knowledge of and familiarity with CDM Regulations.
