The Operational Services directorate is accountable for delivering the right sites, in the right locations, always accessible and always on. It undertakes the operation, enablement, and management of the network infrastructure to enable EE/BT and Three to deliver their best customer experiences at the lowest cost.

The Site Operations Manager will lead and proactively manage all aspects of Planned, Preventative Maintenance (PPM) & site operations with our suppliers. This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week based in our Reading office.

What you will do:

  • Own & proactively manage the delivery of the PPM programme & follow on maintenance activities by the supplier ecosystem against contractual obligations & industry benchmarks.
  • Undertake direct intervention to identify root causes of service underperformance, instigating recovery initiatives to deliver and improve service performance.
  • Be accountable for the assurance & approval of detailed plans for the management of PPM based on service requirements, current backlogs, changes in site status and incremental service demand due to condition to achieve agreed business outcomes and performance targets.
  • Responsible, in conjunction with the MBNL H&S, infrastructure management, estates and compliance teams to ensure sites are maintained in a safe and compliant way whilst maintaining the longevity of the assets by the supplier ecosystem.
  • Work with the MBNL Commercial Management Team, for the proactive management of approved suppliers to achieve agreed business outcomes and performance targets.

What we are looking for:

  • Strong experience of establishing, developing, and leading a PPM function to achieve agreed business outcomes, performance targets and industry benchmarks.
  • Detailed knowledge of the methodologies, processes and capabilities required to deliver best in class technical and business services.
  • Strong experience of managing, motivating, monitoring, and improving performance of contractors and suppliers.
  • Strong experience of building deep, effective relationships and an appreciation of organisational politics. An ability to use these to socialise and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience of working with, briefing, and influencing senior members of leadership teams.
  • Experience of managing the natural tensions between customer, commercial and technical requirements.
  • Experience of bringing industry best practice into an organisation and using this to drive continuous improvement and knowledge of how to lead and manage high performance teams.

Nice to have:

  • Experience of managing remotely located, cross-functional teams.
  • Strong safety/quality/compliance knowledge of mobile or fixed network technologies.
  • Experience of working in or with a JV organisation.
