We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Employment Support Officer / Careers Advisor who has experience of promoting and developing employability or related programmes, case management, action planning and target setting skills, and knowledge and understanding of the local labour market and recruitment practice. Working as the Employment Support Officer / Careers Advisor, you will support the organisation’s Routes to Work project, helping people to gain employment, start education or training courses, or gain volunteering or work experience through 1:1 and group activities. Based in the office in High Wycombe, Aylesbury, or Chesham, the Employment Support Officer / Careers Advisor will assist the CEO in implementing, developing, and delivering the service.
DUTIES
- Collaborate effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Manage a caseload of clients and facilitate group activities
- Develop flexible, person-centred plans with participants within agreed targets
- Provide advice and information to participants
- Promote autonomy, rights, and responsibilities of individuals
- Communicate effectively with internal and external partners
- Maintain accurate records to meet standards and contribute to service monitoring
- Complete all relevant paperwork promptly
- Assist in developing and implementing service policies and procedures
- Attend relevant meetings, including multi-agency collaborations
- Build and maintain professional links with other service providers
- Represent the service professionally
- Provide employability advice, staying informed and developing relevant materials
- Use models like motivational interviewing to support individuals' job search concerns
- Develop and review action plans and interventions
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to meet project objectives and targets
