Leaving Care Support and Integration Officer Location: Bristol The Organisation Our client is a social enterprise with a clear vision – to empower refugees and migrants in the UK to lead self-sufficient and ambitious lives. They bring together a diverse team of strategists and researchers, driven by their own lived experiences, to provide tailored integration services. Their mission goes beyond individual support; they actively challenge and disrupt the systems that perpetuate inequalities in society. They are now looking for a Leaving Care Support and Integration Officer to join them on a temporary, fixed-term basis from the end of February to the beginning of June, working Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. The Role As a Leaving Care Support and Integration Officer, you will support young refugees and asylum seekers who are living in our client’s supported housing. Working with young people aged 18 and above who have come through the care system, you will develop person-centred support plans and provide advice on housing, employment, education, independent living and any benefits and services they are entitled to. You’ll manage a caseload of individuals to equip them with the information and knowledge they need to thrive. Helping young people to access services, you’ll show them how to manage finances and provide support in creating social networks, whilst working with colleagues and other professionals to create pathways for long-term success. Additionally, you will: Maintain accurate records and case files Conduct community outreach activities About You To be considered as a Leaving Care Support and Integration Officer, you will need: Experience working with young people in a support service setting A commitment to helping young people and adults gain life skills and live independently Experience of providing advice, guidance, advocacy, and culturally sensitive support An understanding of the impact of trauma on wellbeing and behaviour Experience creating support plans, needs assessments, and risk assessments The ability to manage and review caseloads, needs, and risks effectively Strong organisational and planning skills The closing date for this role is 15th January 2025.
