Controls & Instrumentation Engineer β Hybrid (Ilkley + Some UK Travel) An established process engineering firm is looking for a Controls & Instrumentation Engineer to join their team. This is a hybrid role with a 50/50 split between project delivery and customer support, offering variety and technical depth.The Role Capital Projects Design control systems for fans, pumps, valves, dampers, and instrumentationSpecify and manage subcontractors for panel build, software, and installationEnsure electrical compliance with EN60204, ISO 13849, and IEC 62061Support commissioning and handover on customer sitesProduce documentation including FDS, schematics, cable schedules and panel layoutsCustomer Support On-site testing, calibration and troubleshooting of control systemsMaintain support contracts and respond to breakdowns and service callsRegular UK travel to customer sites, with flexibility on working locationRequirements HNC or above in Electrical Engineering3+ years in electrical/control design or automationStrong understanding of PLCs, VSDs, and safety systemsExperience producing technical documentation from P&IDs and I/O listsAble to manage site visits, testing, and commissioningClean UK driving licenceNice to Have Experience in thermal processes, printing, food, or paper industriesFamiliar with MS Office and electrical design software (AutoCAD, EPlan, etc.)Confident working independently and with clients directlyThis is a hands-on role suited to an engineer who enjoys both design and real-world problem solving.
