An Experience Designer at Autodesk is a systems thinker, a person that can advocate their design point of view, a considerate collaborator, a customer champion, and somebody who is driven in leading a team to develop great customer experiences. Our Experience Designers use creative problem-solving skills and knowledge in user experience best practices to facilitate their team to think beyond the expected and deliver high-quality experiences our customers will love.

Reporting to the Senior Experience Design Manager in the Water Lifecycle team, you will work closely with a global team of Designers, Product Leads, Development teams and key users, to improve existing user experiences to drive excellent feature adoption and help deliver the future of water design by cultivating a modern experience for our Storm/Sewer/Flood, Water Distribution, and Drainage Design product families. The team is dual located between the UK and Poland and we can hire this position in either the United Kingdom (Remote) or Krakow, Poland (Hybrid).

Responsibilities

  • Partner with product managers, engineers, and other designers to define exceptional user experiences from concept to implementation.
  • Develop and prototype solutions at various levels of fidelity, including wireframes, conceptual designs, presentations, and detailed specifications.
  • Work closely with remote teams, iteratively delivering customer value.
  • Lead team sessions to generate ideas and evaluate possibilities.
  • Design and implement methods to gather customer insights, understanding user behavior to inform business and design decisions.
  • Facilitate and participate in user research, such as interviews and usability testing, to validate user workflows, concepts, designs, and make iterative improvements.
  • Contribute to creating scalable experience design standards and improving design processes.
  • Use customer insights that come from analytics and customer interactions to help inform business and design decisions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3-5 years as an Experience Designer.
  • Experience doing UX/XD, HCI, or interaction design.
  • Work with development teams and product managers to deliver usable and desired value to customers.
  • Demonstrated examples in leading teams in problem definition and analysis, understanding customer workflows, and creating prototypes and designs that solve customer problems.
  • Good communication and presentation skills - written, verbal and visual.
  • Manage tasks, and set priorities with direction and feedback from partners and teammates.
  • Experience with design support tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Visio, Sketch, Invision, Figma, Balsamiq or similar.
  • Experience running customer interviews or usability testing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience designing for complex creative applications, 3D tools, animation or visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of creating cloud-based service experiences, including resiliency best practices.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk software or equivalent software.
  • Demonstrated ability in using customer research and feedback as the basis for design decisions.
  • Knowledge or background in Water Infrastructure workflows.
