Job Description Overview Under general supervision, performs complex analyses on a variety of sample types, utilizing independent judgment to generate acceptable test results. Acts as a lead by managing workflow, mentoring others, and serving as a clinical and technical resource. Key Responsibilities Independently performs responsibilities of MLS I, MLS II, and MLS III. Leads quality improvement initiatives as a member of a multi-disciplinary patient care services team. Develops and leads efforts to improve regulatory compliance within and beyond the department. Assists leadership with interviewing, orienting, training, and supervising staff. Provides input for performance evaluations and corrective actions. Collaborates with leadership to identify gaps and opportunities for professional development and strategic initiatives. Facilitates a positive departmental culture. Assists leadership in identifying and resolving complex clinical and operational issues. Prepares for and participates in regulatory and accreditation agency activities.
