Responsibilities
- Accountable to the Assistant Nurse Manager, Nursing Operations Manager, or Practice Manager for operational issues.
- Participates in quality initiatives, goal attainment, and clinical outcome process improvement activities.
- Supports effective and professional communication with patients and family members.
- Collaborates with administrative and operations staff.
- Gathers patient data through interview and observation.
- Assists patients and families with preparation for examination.
- Assists the physician or APP during examinations and procedures.
- Demonstrates competency in specific tasks and skills as defined by the practice.
- Provides routine treatments and administers approved medications.
- Documents patient data, treatments, procedures, and education according to policies.
- Acts as a liaison for scheduling and coordinating specialty testing and consultations.
- Processes incoming and outgoing calls professionally using sound clinical judgment.
- Enters medication, laboratory, and diagnostic imaging orders into the electronic medical system under provider direction.
- Adheres to policies, procedures, and standards ensuring compliance and safety.
- Maintains regular, punctual attendance and complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school or at least one year of relevant work experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
- Current certification or registration from one of the recognized agencies.
