We have a current opportunity for a FPSO Work Pack Manager on a temporary PAYE contract basis. The position will be based in Aberdeen with an operator client.
Requires experience of leading marine aspects of FPSO projects from FEED to drydock then installation. The FPSO Work Pack Manager will be responsible for delivering all engineering aspects of the Hull, Marine and Mooring Systems through execution, fabrication, construction hook-up and commissioning. Will be accountable for assuring the FPSO design is delivered in a timely manner against the BOD, SOR and Scope of Work as detailed in the FPSO contract.
- Prepare & control the Basis of Design, Scopes of Work, execution methodology and CTR’s for all contracted / out-sourced engineering activities, including safety studies, environmental and survey works, regulatory compliance and discipline and integrated assurance activities;
- Identify all engineering needs & interfaces and ensure timely allocation of resources for managing the FPSO works (note this may be a leased FPSO with nominated Installation Operator);
- Oversee and monitor all the required scopes including detail design for new scopes as well as repair, upgrade and life extension elements on the FPSO, and ensure the timely incorporation of vendor data & rigorous management of change with the chosen suppliers;
- Work with the Subsea Project Managers to coordinate integrated activities (subsurface /wells/ Mooring Systems / risers and umbilicals / flow assurance / environmental activities) according to plan, and to deliver robust, safe and fit for purpose design solutions;
- Focus on value generation & value improvement, solution robustness (in all respects) and alignment overall with business drivers and plans;
- Contribute to and collate decision support packages for critical technical decision points, and work cross-discipline to ensure all integration elements, values and trade-offs are captured;
- Coordinate independent review and challenge sessions & value improvement activities, including use of benchmarks & lessons learned / best practice;
- Establish innovative technical and commercial solutions as appropriate;
- Stay abreast of applicable technologies, commercial practices and supply chain offerings to bring a full range of potential solutions to the FPSO;
- Maintain current & robust knowledge of analogue FPSO projects (new builds, conversions or redeployments), identify challenges, solutions and lessons learned, and identify potential relationships to help unlock economic value through the supply chain;
- Maintains current and robust knowledge of UKCS regulatory requirements;
- Coordinate external engineering contractors or consultancies providing services to the organisation including travel to overseas locations as required;
- Will work to operational standards, procedures, processes, guidance and other forms of control for operated assets.
Accountable for delivering the FPSO element of the project. Responsible for implementing appropriate HSE and Engineering Standards. Provides the FPSO engineering input to the project basis of design. Owns FPSO related aspects of Project Assurance Plan. FPSO delivery through engineering, procurement and construction. Responsible for the application of the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Experience Required
- Proven track record of successful leadership in senior FPSO Manager roles within the upstream oil and gas sector, influencing capital investment strategies and major project delivery.
- In depth knowledge of UKCS regulatory requirements.
- ITT Preparation and evaluation.
- In-depth knowledge of risk management practices, regulatory frameworks, and operational safety standards pertinent to the oil and gas industry.
- Familiarity with global regulatory and legislative environments, including government and industry stakeholder engagement.
