A brilliant opportunity for a Machine Learning-focussed Software Engineer with experience in AI, Audio, and Computer Vision to join an incredibly exciting start-up in London, which is currently in stealth mode developing pioneering technology in the security and media analysis space. Joining a company founded by experts in their field β with a proven track record of building successful start-ups β this offers the chance to work in an environment filled with technological innovation and a cutting-edge tech stack.
This is a unique opportunity to join at this early stage, receiving equity in the business, while helping shape and develop the products during this innovative R&D phase.
Location: Central London, UK β mostly onsite (4β5 days per week)
Salary: Β£55,000 β Β£90,000 per annum + equity in the business
Requirements for AI/ML Software Engineer:
- At least 2 years of commercial experience in an Artificial Intelligence Software Development role with exposure to areas like computer vision, audio processing, and generative AI systems
- Ideally you will be educated to PhD level or have experience working in a start-up environment
- Excellent academic history, ideally including a 2.1 or First in a STEM degree from a leading university, plus strong A-Level (or equivalent) results
- Proficient in programming β the current stack includes Python, C++, Go, and AWS. Experience with cloud-native systems, edge ML, or tools for audio/video analysis would be a bonus
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Keen to work in a fast-paced R&D start-up environment (as opposed to a large corporate setting)
Responsibilities for AI/ML Software Engineer:
- Exciting early-stage development of prototyping products within a growing R&D team
- Design and development of Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence / Computer Vision-related video & audio software
- Work with generative AI tools and contribute to prompt engineering for intelligent media processing
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to design systems for anomaly detection, audio transcription, and event-based alerts
- Shape early-stage infrastructure for analysing and streaming audio/video data at scale
- Optimise code for performance, scale, and maintainability
- Work in an environment focussed on continuous improvement
