As Assistant Management Accountant, you will support the finance department with timely and accurate reporting, financial insight, and process improvements. Your work will contribute to the business’s global operations, including multi-currency postings and assisting with sales tax compliance across different regions. You will also help drive continuous improvement across financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance at every stage.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
- Support variance analysis and help deliver accurate, timely financial reporting.
- Contribute to improvements in month-end reporting processes.
- Assist with payroll journals and support the preparation of payroll-related statutory returns.
- Process accruals, prepayments, and other journals to ensure accurate financial records.
- Work with other departments to collect data and support the preparation of financial insights.
- Support multi-currency postings and help ensure accurate sales tax coding.
- Perform routine balance sheet reconciliations and flag discrepancies.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and transactional processes in collaboration with the Transactional Manager.
- Provide data and support ad-hoc financial analysis.
- Help prepare audit documentation and assist with external audit processes.
What we’re looking for:
- Part-qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent).
- Experience in management accounts, ideally within a fast-paced or e-commerce business.
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Familiarity with multi-currency transactions and international sales tax.
- Proactive and collaborative approach; able to work independently and within a team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
