NVH, which stands for Noise, Vibration and Harshness, is a key discipline in JLR for the refinement attribute of the JLR house of brands. It plays a vital role in delivering the premium driving experience our customers expect. The NVH Vehicle Dyno Facilities team sits within the well-established NVH Laboratory Operations group, known for its agility, flexibility, and consistently high-quality data output. This team is instrumental in supporting the development, launch, and ongoing quality of JLR’s core refinement attribute.

As an NVH Facility Engineer, you’ll be responsible for preparing vehicles and conducting tests within our Vehicle Semi-Anechoic Chambers (VSACs). You’ll acquire and validate live test data using LMS software, ensuring accuracy before releasing results to the NVH attribute teams. The role covers a broad range of dynamic and static testing activities at both vehicle and system levels, requiring hands-on technical expertise and a strong understanding of NVH principles.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team that defines the refinement and acoustic performance of JLR’s luxury vehicles. You’ll contribute to the development of safer, cleaner, and more connected mobility while playing a key role in the success of one great company and its house of brands.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This role operates on a Monday to Friday double-day shift pattern, alternating weekly between early and late shifts, with a shorter shift on Fridays. A 16% shift allowance is applied on top of the base salary.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality outcomes and supporting the wider team through a range of responsibilities, including:

  • Support NVH Attribute teams by ensuring all verification testing is completed and any issues are resolved to meet vehicle-level targets and customer expectations.
  • Liaise with NVH stakeholders to ensure test requests are clearly defined, achievable, and aligned with programme needs.
  • Operate the 4WD rolling road dynamometer and prepare the facility, components, and instrumentation for effective test execution.
  • Acquire, analyse, and interpret NVH test data to support engineering decisions and issue resolution.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of test methods and facility capabilities.
  • Identify and communicate any instrumentation limitations or future requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

The ideal candidate will have a strong mix of experience, recognised training, and capabilities such as:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent hands-on operational experience in a technical or automotive environment.
  • Significant experience operating 4WD chassis dynamometers and conducting NVH testing.
  • Proficient in acquiring and analysing NVH data using Siemens LMS software.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle components, sub-systems, and noise and vibration measurement techniques.
  • Skilled in interpreting test data as well as producing clear and actionable reports to support engineering decisions.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Self-motivated, with a structured approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently to a high standard.

Creating Modern Luxury requires a modern approach to work. At JLR, hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement providing employees more choice and flexibility around how, when, and where they work. Some roles require more on-site work, but details of this can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview stage.

Please discuss these with your recruiter so we can accommodate your needs. Applicants from all backgrounds are welcome.
