You are the one they call when things get complex. When everyone else is stumped and someone needs to stand up and say, “this is what needs to happen, and this is what we are going to do.” You are the technical conscience, the big-picture thinker with the deepest subject matter expertise in electrical building services. This role has been designed for someone like you.
We are working closely with a superb M&E Contractor looking at a significant growth trajectory as part of a 3-5 year plan; a business known for their family values and for delivering award-winning, multi-sector projects while remaining true to a culture of excellence and technical rigour. They are now looking to appoint an Electrical Engineering Director (or equivalent) to join their London based team.
The post holder will act as the technical lead for all things electrical, setting the standard for engineering excellence in the business. Whether it’s high voltage systems, grid connections, advanced commissioning – your experience will be broad and all encompassing. Working with consultants, supply chain specialists and internal teams, you will be responsible for ensuring every project meets the most rigorous standards and is delivered in a way that reflects the business’s high expectations.
This isn’t just a role for a brilliant engineer (though you’ll need to be one). It’s a role for someone who can mentor, influence and lead. Someone equally at home in a strategic board meeting as they are in a technical review.
Key criteria:
- A Chartered Engineer (ideally MCIBSE or equivalent)
- A deep understanding of electrical building services - across both design consultancy and construction
- Leadership experience - and the ability to steer, support, and develop teams
- A commercial mindset and the confidence to work with external specialists, consultants, and statutory bodies
- A calm, clear, credible communicator - trusted and respected at every level
This is a huge opportunity for somebody to play a key role in helping an impressive leadership team define the future of this rapidly growing and highly ambitious contractor. Salary for the role is in the region of £120,000 - £140,000 with a package reflective of role seniority. If this sounds like the sort of challenge you’ve been craving, I’d love to talk to you.
