We are seeking an experienced Director of Advertising to lead the vision and strategy for the growing advertising division. This role will be responsible for overseeing and expanding advertising services, ensuring that the business remains a prominent player in the global market, particularly in the retail media space.
The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience in managing large advertising teams (5+ managers) and handling significant budgets (£7m+). They should be adept at working across multi-brand and multi-market environments, with a clear understanding of the complexities of managing international and culturally diverse advertising campaigns. At least 3 years of experience with Amazon advertising, coupled with over 7 years in programmatic or biddable media, is essential.
We require a commercially astute leader who can manage a division’s P&L, develop strategies independently, and optimise ad performance using data-driven insights. Responsibilities include:
- Defining and implementing the strategic direction for the advertising services, including overall goals and strategic initiatives for the department.
- Serving as the strategic lead on high-value client accounts, ensuring top-tier account management and client satisfaction.
- Leading and mentoring a team of Senior Account Managers and Associate Directors, ensuring they are trained on the latest advertising trends and techniques.
- Providing strategic guidance on key client accounts and supporting the team in developing their advertising strategies.
- Managing relationships with third-party advertising providers and technology partners to maximise the efficiency and impact of our campaigns.
- Maintaining high levels of client and employee satisfaction through regular surveys and feedback loops.
- Working alongside the Amazon Advertising team to ensure we have the support needed to enhance and develop our advertising product offerings.
- Representing the company at industry events, positioning yourself and the business as thought leaders in the field of retail media and advertising.
Proven experience managing a team of 5 or more advertising professionals, with responsibility for budgets of £7m+ across multiple regions is required. Experience working in multi-brand and multi-market environments, with an in-depth understanding of the challenges that arise when managing cross-border advertising campaigns is essential. Demonstrable leadership skills with experience in building, mentoring, and motivating a team in a fast-paced advertising environment are necessary. Strong knowledge of ad tech platforms, such as Skai, Perpetua, or Pacvue, to streamline processes without compromising campaign performance is also important. Additionally, experience in building relationships with third-party ad providers and technology partners to enhance ad delivery, along with solid experience in managing a division’s P&L and making data-driven decisions to optimise campaign performance, is required.
