Role Summary

Due to ongoing growth and a strategic commitment to enhancing property management, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Estates Surveyor to join the Council's Estates Team. This role holds a strategic importance within the team as it drives the effective management and valuation of the Council's property assets. The successful candidate will play a key part in developing the real estate portfolio and impact community services, making this a critical position for driving positive change within the area.

Responsibilities

As an Estates Surveyor, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering effective estate management and valuation services to enhance the Council's property portfolio.
  • Specialising in strategic asset management to maximise revenue and support the Council's objectives.
  • Engaging with key stakeholders to influence property decisions and enhance community services.
  • Implementing a Strategic Asset Management Plan and contributing to various Council projects and initiatives.
  • Conducting property negotiations and managing diverse property issues that arise within the estate.

Essential Skills & Experience

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A professional qualification in a relevant field at Level 6 or above.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in property management or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of mixed property portfolios and strategic decision-making.
  • Proven ability to negotiate effectively in property transactions.
  • Excellent communication skills with a commitment to engaging with community stakeholders.

Desirable Skills & Experience

While not mandatory, the following skills and experience would be advantageous:

  • Experience in inward investment and regeneration projects.
  • Familiarity with strategic planning processes related to property management.
  • A background in working within a public sector or local government environment.
