Our Felixstowe client is looking to recruit an experienced Groupage Transport Planner to organise the planning of vehicles efficiently and cost effectively, satisfying customer needs while ensuring that all appropriate legislation and regulations are adhered to.
Duties
- Plan allocated resource pool legally, compliantly and efficiently ensuring all EU and WTD legislation is achieved.
- Achieve daily / weekly KPI’s.
- Work closely with colleagues within the planning team to ensure fleet utilisation is optimal.
- Monitor and manage vehicle movements from point of origin to destination.
- Maintain the information entered into TMS / TOPS to the required standard to keep data recording as live as possible.
- Liaise with sub-contractors to ensure availability of required resources and monitor sub-contractor performance.
- Report all non-conformances to customers in a timely manner.
- Liaise with customers to agree additional charges accordingly – tolls, demurrage, wasted journey’s etc.
- Comply with the Company’s trading standards and conditions, including agreed accounting and credit control processes.
- Ensure all jobs are completed in full and charged completed in order for accounts to process invoices.
- Plan other resource when required for holiday cover etc.
- Take appropriate action on any Health & Safety issues reported with due regard to the urgency and risk presented ensuring compliance with the Company’s Health & Safety policy.
- Comply with the Company’s information systems policy.
- Comply with the Company’s management systems policy.
- Daily contact with depots and Operations Departments to communicate as required,
- Other duties as may reasonably be required of you by the management of the Company.
