Job Opportunity: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location: Suffolk
Permanent/ Hybrid: Full-time, (4 days on-site, 1 day remote)
Salary: c£150,000 Basic and attractive benefits
Reporting to: CEO
The Role
As CFO, you will be a key strategic partner to the CEO, providing financial leadership and commercial insight to support critical business decisions. You will lead a finance team of 6, oversee financial strategy, ensure robust controls, and play a pivotal role in site/system integration, M&A activity, and driving performance improvement. Importantly, your turnaround experience will be valuable initially and once key objectives have been met, your broader experience will enable you to commence growth projects and likely additional acquisitions in the near future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and evolve the finance function across both sites
- Drive business transformation and financial turnaround initiatives
- Provide commercial insight to support growth to £40m+ turnover
- Own budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and long-term planning
- Support M&A strategy and execution, including due diligence and integration
- Oversee financial controls, audit preparation, and risk management
- Partner with CEO as a sounding board and strategic adviser
- Work cross-functionally with internal HR and outsourced IT (dotted-line oversight)
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Proven CFO/FD-level experience in manufacturing, supply chain, distribution, or electronics
- Demonstrated turnaround or transformation case studies
- Strong commercial mindset; comfortable switching between strategy and operational detail
- Fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
- M&A, systems integration, and contract negotiation experience
- Team leadership, coaching, and development capability
Desirable:
- Audit background
- Experience within electronics manufacturing
- Change management or business transformation background
