Our client is a leading manufacturer of surface finishing equipment, supplying both the educational and industrial sectors on a global scale. We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer on behalf of our client to help drive growth within the industrial sector. This is a hands-on, multifaceted role that blends technical sales, project management, design engineering, and production support. The successful candidate will take ownership of customer enquiries from initial contact through to final delivery, collaborating closely with clients to provide tailored machinery solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site surveys and liaise with clients to define technical requirements
  • Generate and follow up on industrial sales leads
  • Prepare bespoke quotations, combining standard machines with tailored modifications using Excel
  • Support the expansion of industrial distribution channels
  • Carry out design work, typically involving modifications to existing machines (using SolidWorks & AutoCAD)
  • Manage projects independently, maintaining control of your own schedule and client communication
  • Contribute hands-on in the factory environment, including: Programming for CNC machines, Producing prototypes and technical documentation, Providing general technical support to the production team

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar engineering or technical sales role
  • Proficient in SolidWorks
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage projects from concept to completion
  • Hands-on engineering knowledge, ideally with CNC experience
  • Excellent communication skills and self-motivation
  • Previous experience in the surface finishing or machinery manufacturing sectors
  • Background in business development or distributor relationship management is desirable
