A fantastic opportunity has opened for an experienced HVAP Shift Leader to join a leading facilities services provider at a high-profile data centre in Harlow. This role is ideal for an electrically biased professional with a strong background in critical environments and proven leadership experience.

You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and leading a dedicated engineering team in a live data centre environment. The position operates on a continental shift pattern, requiring hands-on involvement in both technical and managerial aspects of site maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading a team of engineers on a continental shift rota (4/6/4/4/3/3/4)
  • Managing HV systems and operations across the site
  • Carrying out HV switching, writing switching schedules, and leading critical operations
  • Overseeing reactive and planned maintenance for all electrical systems
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and site RAMS
  • Acting as the senior point of contact during shifts for all technical escalations
  • Managing shift reports, logs, and engineering handovers
  • Driving team performance and training development
Qualifications & Experience:
  • 5 years experience in a lead or supervisory role within a critical/data centre environment
  • City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
  • Valid HV Authorised Person certificate
  • Proven experience carrying out HV switching and writing switching schedules
  • Solid understanding of critical systems including UPS, generators, and BMS
  • Experienced in RAMS, permit to work systems, and health & safety leadership
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
