This role is ideal for an electrically biased professional with a strong background in critical environments and proven leadership experience.
Role Overview: You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and leading a dedicated engineering team in a live data centre environment. The position operates on a continental shift pattern, requiring hands-on involvement in both technical and managerial aspects of site maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading a team of engineers on a continental shift rota (4/6/4/4/3/3/4)
- Managing HV systems and operations across the site
- Carrying out HV switching, writing switching schedules, and leading critical operations
- Overseeing reactive and planned maintenance for all electrical systems
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and site RAMS
- Acting as the senior point of contact during shifts for all technical escalations
- Managing shift reports, logs, and engineering handovers
- Driving team performance and training development
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5 years experience in a lead or supervisory role within a critical/data centre environment
- City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
- Valid HV Authorised Person certificate
- Proven experience carrying out HV switching and writing switching schedules
- Solid understanding of critical systems including UPS, generators, and BMS
- Experienced in RAMS, permit to work systems, and health & safety leadership
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
